23-year old righty swinging starting LF Dayan Viciedo is in a funk at the plate right now. Since June 1st, Viciedo has played in 52 games for the White Sox in which he is 38 of 179 (.212 avg) with 16 runs scored, 5 homers and 23 RBIs. He has now played in 99 games overall for the White Sox so far this year and he is 86 of 344 (.250 avg, .714 OPS) with 38 runs scored, 16 homers and 51 RBIs. The problem with Viciedo is that he swings at almost everything. He has walked only 17 times so far this year while whiffing 78 times. He’s likely going to run hot and cold the rest of the year for the White Sox.
