The White Sox are sending an impressive trio to the All-Star Game. It all starts with 23-year old lefty starting pitcher Chris Sale. He will be making his first appearance in the All-Star Game. Sale has pitched in 15 games (14 starts) for the Pale Hose so far this year and he is 9-2 with a 2.27 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP. Sale has only given up 68 hits and 24 walks, while whiffing 94 batters in his first 95 1/3 innings this year….which is pretty darn impressive. 36-year old righty swinging 1B Paul Konerko will be heading to the All-Star Game for the 6th time in his career. Konerko has played in 71 games for the White Sox so far this year and he is 88 for 263 (.335 avg, .962 OPS) with 38 runs scored, 14 homers and 40 RBIs. 32-year old lefty swinging DH/1B Adam Dunn has made it to his second All-Star Game. Dunn has played in 79 games for the White Sox so far this year and he is 58 of 276 (.210 avg, .866 OPS) with 44 runs scored, 24 homers and 58 RBIs. He has walked a major league leading 64 times already this year, but, he has also whiffed an amazingly awful 126 times so far this year….also leading the way in the majors.

UPDATE: (7/9/2012) - Jake Peavy has been added to the All-Star Team to replace C.J. Wilson, who has a blister on the middle finger of his left hand. Peavy deserved to be on the team anyway. He has pitched in 17 games (all starts) for the White Sox so far this year and he is 7-5 with a 2.85 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP.
