The White Sox have placed 25-year old righty swinging 3B Brent Morel on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 18th due to a strained back. Morel has played in 35 games for the White Sox so far this year and he is 20 for 113 (.177 avg, .420 OPS) with 14 runs scored, 0 homers, 5 RBIs and 4 stolen bases. 34-year old switch-hitting infielder Orlando Hudson will take over at 3B until Morel is ready to return to action. Don’t be shocked if Hudson puts pressure on Morel for his starting gig at 3B.
