Sergio Santos has been amazing for the Chicago White Sox so far this year

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General, Throwing Well by chinmusic on Thursday 19 May 2011 at 9:12 am

27-year old righty reliever Sergio Santos has been unhittable this season for the White Sox. Santos has pitched in 16 games (0 starts) for the White Sox so far this year and he is 2-0 with 6 saves, a 0.00 ERA and a 0.85 WHIP. He has only given up 8 hits in his first 20 innings pitched while whiffing 23 batters so far this year, which is pretty darn impressive. Since taking over as the White Sox’ closer, Santos has pitched in 9 games (0 starts) and he is 2-0 with 6 saves, a 0.00 ERA and a 0.68 WHIP as he has only given up 3 hits in 10 1/3 innings in his new role. The most amazing thing about Santos is that he was a shortstop in the minors until 2 years ago. He didn’t start pitching until the 2009 season. Imagine how good he could be right now if he was a pitcher his whole career.
