The Chicago Cubs have signed Edwin Jackson
The Cubs have signed 29-year old righty starting pitcher Edwin Jackson to a 4-year, $52 million dollar deal. Jackson pitched in 31 games (all starts) for the Nationals last year and he was 10-11 with a 4.03 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. He has now pitched in 234 games (204 starts) in his first 10 years in the majors and he is 70-71 with a 4.40 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. The Cubs might have overpaid a little bit for Jackson, but he’s a pretty dependable starter, so maybe that’s the going rate for a pitcher like him.
