The Chicago Cubs claim Sandy Rosario off waivers

The Cubs have claimed 27-year old righty reliever Sandy Rosario off waivers from the Cubs. He pitched in 4 games (0 starts) for the Marlins last year and he was 0-0 with a 18.00 ERA and a 2.67 WHIP. He also pitched in 31 games (2 starts) for the Marlins last year in which he was 0-2 with 17 saves, a 1.99 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP. He has now pitched in 10 games (0 starts) in his first three years in the majors and he is 0-0 with a 15.26 ERA and a 3.26 WHIP. He will get a shot to win a job in the Cubs’ pen next spring.

UPDATE: (12/22/2012) - The Cubs have lost Sandy Rosario off waivers to the Giants.
