The Cubs have taken the interim tag off of Mike Quade signing him to a 2-year deal with a club option for 2013 to manage the Cubs. Quade led the Cubs to a 24-13 (64.9%) record after replacing Lou Piniella who resigned after going 51-74 (40.8%) with the Cubs earlier this year. The Cubs finished in fifth place in the N.L. Central with a 75-87 record which had them 16 games behind the Reds in the division. The Cubs looked like a much different team under Quade even after they dumped payroll at the trade deadline. Hopefully he is the right guy to turn the Cubs around.
